Municipal Heat Planning for Greifswald
The municipal heat planning in Greifswald started at the beginning of 2025 and has since reached important milestones. Following a comprehensive stakeholder analysis, both the inventory and potential analyses have now been successfully completed. Based on this, a first draft of the target scenario for the city’s future heat supply is already available.
The next step is the first public information event on September 15, 2025, in Greifswald. There, the results to date will be presented, feedback from citizens will be gathered, and the interim results will be discussed with the public. The event thus marks an important milestone on the path to a sustainable and future-proof heat supply in Greifswald.
Services
Theta Concepts GmbH supports the University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald with municipal heat planning as a general contractor. The range of services includes project management, as well as the execution of stakeholder analysis, inventory and potential analysis, and the development of a target scenario.
To ensure the long-term implementation of the developed measures, a comprehensive strategy and measures catalog will also be created, which also includes a continuity and monitoring and control strategy. The entire process is accompanied by intensive stakeholder and public participation.
Acknowledgment
We thank the City of Greifswald and the involved stakeholders for their trust in us. We are pleased to contribute to the heat transition with the heat plan.
